Online tool My 2050 models carbon emissions economics

Help

A new online modelling tool, My 2050 has been created by the UK government's energy department to allow people to explore the economics of cutting carbon emissions.

Using different scenarios, such as extra wind turbines and electric cars, the model shows how far these changes will go towards reaching UK government targets of reducing carbon emissions by 80% by 2050, while keeping the lights on.

The UK Department of Energy and Climate Change's (DECC) chief scientific adviser Professor David MacKay shows BBC environment correspondent Roger Harrabin how My 2050 works.
