As it looks to cut £10.4m from the budget by 2020, charges for car-parking and cremations are also set to increase.

Labour's ruling group is proposing a 4.9% Council Tax  increase - including a 3% levy to pay for adult social care.

The latest proposals contain fewer cutbacks than earlier drafts and council leaders say that while difficult decisions have been made, Coventry is in a more fortunate financial position than other councils in the West Midlands.

A final vote by all councillors on whether or not to accept the budget will take place later this month.
