A campaigner who won a seat on Sefton council says other councillors need to "sit up and listen" to what people are saying.

Maria Bennett, standing for the Formby Residents Action Group Opposition from Formby (Frag Off) party won in Ravenmeols, unseating the Conservatives.

"It just shows that if the community sticks together we can win and we can make changes - hopefully for the better," she said.
