Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council has the second worst rate for delays behind Cumbria County Council with Tameside and Stockport fourth and fifth in England according to the figures.

Delayed transfers occur when a patient is deemed medically well enough to be released from hospital, but something else holds up their discharge.
