In 2013 a couple from Melbourne, Australia, in their 60s have run a marathon every single day. They did their last one on 1 January 2014, which set the world record of 366 marathons in as many days.

Janette Murray-Wakelin, who ran with her partner Alan Murray, told the Today programme's Sarah Montague that they chose to run in order to "bring a really positive messageā€¦ about being responsible for your own health".

She described how they ran on a diet of smoothies and fruit salads, beginning their run each morning at 5am.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Friday 3 January 2014.
