Superman: Why Man of Steel is from Cleveland not Krypton


Anyone who watched the first Superman film starring Christopher Reeve knows that the superhero was sent to Earth as a baby just before his home planet of Krypton exploded.

Less well known is the fact that the comic book character has his origins in Ohio.

Ahead of the world premiere of Man of Steel - the latest reboot of a franchise which celebrates its 75th anniversary this summer - the BBC's Matt Danzico explains how Superman was born in a suburban house in Cleveland.
