Director seeks answers with Bible Quiz documentary

Nicole Teeny left the Christian faith while at university, and she had few people to turn to for guidance.

She'd grown up in an evangelical Christian household, and her childhood friends advised she talk to a pastor.

Her secular friends couldn't even fathom the conservative religious culture.

Despite the disconnect, Ms Teeny felt she was now uniquely placed to explain both groups to each other.

The documentary Bible Quiz, directed by Ms Teeny, follows evangelical teens as they compete in reciting biblical verse from memory.

It was born from her own desire to understand the world which shaped her childhood.
