1. It's the range of underwear. Obama joked about Beckham's age, his injuries and his outside interests, saying it was a "rare man who can be that tough on the field and also have his own line of underwear".
2. It's hearing. Whales hunt and navigate by listening for echoes. Scientists have now found that, for some whales, this sense is adjustable. Researchers in Hawaii measured the hearing of a female killer whale and found she could fine-tune her most crucial sense.
3. A bird. It was reported that a migratory bird - a common European bee-eater - caused alarm in a village in south-eastern Turkey after it was found dead in a field with a metal ring around its leg stamped "Israel". Amid fears it might be carrying a microchip, it was examined by a government official and was declared safe.
4. It's a King James Bible. Around 24,000 Bibles are being given out to schools by the Department for Education to mark last year's 400th anniversary of its publication.
5. It's embittered - although the Greek adjective has only one "m". Pikrammenos joked that his name made him uniquely suited for the post.
6. It's Mason, which was placed second on the boys' list. Commentators suggested this could have something to do with reality TV star Kourtney Kardashian naming her son Mason.
7. It was wind. Arriving passengers could be subject to factors such as tailwinds and headwinds, which could affect the times when planes arrived and where they joined the immigration queue, Green explained.
