Life as an undercover police officer
As part of Radio 4's Secret Britain series, Peter Taylor has been talking to people who have kept the darkest state secrets, to hear how it feels to live a life in the shadows.
Here, a former undercover police officer Steve - not his real name - talks about living a double life, during his time infiltrating the far left.
You can here more from "Steve" in Living with Secrets, on BBC Radio 4 on 30 August 2011 at 09:00 BST and repeated at 21:30 BST. Or you can listen again again via the BBC iPlayer. It is part of Radio 4's "Secret Britain" series, which you can also still listen to via the BBC iPlayer.
