Classic motor racing comes to Silverstone

Classic motor racing is attracting a growing audience. The world's biggest classic racing festival is at Silverstone, where this year cars from eight decades of motor sport were once more on the starting grid.

The weekend also saw a race dedicated to the memory of former F1 driver Peter Gethin, who died last year. Gethin rose to fame driving for McLaren in the Formula 5000 series, and the car in which he won the European championship in 1970 has been restored to its former glory. It is now owned by Mark Longmore and driven by Matthew Wurr, who explains the attraction of getting behind the wheel of a classic racing machine.
