Readers' photos on the theme heritage.
Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme is heritage and we begin with a photo taken by Simon Ruff of the Great Central Railway in Leicestershire. Mr Ruff said: "The volunteers that run this heritage railway do a superb job. You don't have to be a train spotter to enjoy the atmosphere of these events."
Chris Fletcher: "The local landmark is the Headstone Viaduct which was built by the Midland Railway in 1863 over the River Wye."
Abhiroop Ghosh Dastidar
Abhiroop Ghosh Dastidar: "Yesterday and tomorrow captured in a frame in the Statesman Vintage Car Rally at Calcutta in India."
Sreeranj Sreedhar: "The Fujairah Fort dates from 1670 and is considered to be one of the oldest forts in UAE."
Emma Lane: "The Knights of Royal England ride out to do battle. Taken during the jousting tournament at Leeds Castle in Kent."
George Olney: "Nahuatl dancers wearing penachos celebrate their heritage in the streets at the Feria del Huipil in Mexico."
Louise Sullivan: "One of the six last remaining Dobcross weaving looms (made in Huddersfield) from the 1950s at the weaving mill I work at in Scotland. These were decommissioned four years ago in favour of faster, more modern looms from Germany, but remain part of our very important heritage."
Lucia Svecova: "I consider the Mini Cooper car a British iconic car, therefore I see it as its heritage."
Megan Jackson: "My engagement ring, passed down from my grandmother to me, taken just after my fiance and I got engaged. It's got its own story to tell of a successful marriage - and another soon to come!"
Stephen Spencer: "The austere ruins of Witley Court, destroyed by fire in 1937, with the Perseus and Andromeda fountain in the foreground."
And finally a photo by Peter Storr of the classroom at Beamish Museum. Next week the theme is concrete jungle and the deadline for your entries is 19 June.
