This week has seen record-breaking hot weather in the UK with temperatures soaring to 29 degrees in some parts of the country. Here many flock to Saltburn-on-Sea beach in the north east of England, to enjoy the October sunshine. Photo: Kirsty Lowe.
A lorry carrying pigs overturns in the village of Legbourne, Lincolnshire, England. Karen Langton: "The sound was dreadful. They were squeaking and screaming. The pigs were trapped inside the lorry for three hours while the emergency services waited for another animal transport truck to arrive."
