In pictures: Wind

Each week we publish a gallery of readers' pictures on a set theme. This week the theme is wind, and we start with a photograph by Matthew Wheeler.

Kathryn Moisan: "I took this picture whilst on a walk around Val De La Mar reservoir last autumn. I think dandelions in seed are rather beautiful and fragile things - the slightest breeze and they drift away.

Russ Barnes: "A 30-second daytime exposure of Chesterton Windmill, Warwickshire, on a stormy August day. This unique and ancient windmill sits in a perfect position to take advantage of nature's natural power."

Regeg Nguga: "Bapangan is the name of a Javanese traditional kite. This Bapangan was made by the community of Garongan 1 for the National Kites Festival 2011 at Glagah Beach, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta, Java, Indonesia."

Keith Leatham: "A kite-boarder in Fuerteventura, Canary Islands, in very strong winds."

Jon Eaton: "I took this photo on holiday in Wales. It was a beautiful calm day which seemed in contrast with the tree which had been shaped by years of wind."

John Lenihan: "A windmill in my neighbour's garden, Athenry, Ireland."
