'Merit' in A&E alcohol and drug charges - NI minister

Northern Ireland's health minister has said he can see merit in the idea of charging fees to patients who end up in A&E as a result of alcohol or drugs.

Emergency services are under pressure across Northern Ireland and a number of deaths have been linked to long waiting times.

Edwin Poots has recently provided extra resources to try and tackle the problems, but staff remain under severe pressure on a regular basis.
