Half of adults with autism 'afraid to leave house'

Almost half of adults with autism are afraid to leave the house in fear of facing abuse or harassment, according to a charity.

The National Autistic Society spoke to 1,300 adults on the autistic spectrum and found 37% of those asked had been manipulated to do something they did not want to do.

Derek, who was was diagnosed with Asperger's Syndrome last year, told BBC Radio 5 live's Victoria Derbyshire he had been attacked by a previous employer when he was misunderstood.
