Does self-monitoring improve your health?

From pedometers that tell us how far we walk, to gadgets that monitor our sleep, if we want to keep tabs on how healthy we are there's a device out there that will let us do it.

But can they really help us improve our lifestyles? Horizon has taken a look at some of the ways we can check up on our own health.

The programme followed three women who made use of the equipment and found that self-monitoring is simple.
