NHS Direct wants to end 111 contracts

NHS Direct is seeking to pull out of its contracts to provide a non-emergency telephone service.

The company won 11 of the 46 regional contracts for the service but has already pilled out of two.

NHS Direct says the contracts are "financially unsustainable".
