Labour pains: Man experiences the pain of childbirth

4 July 2013 Last updated at 19:48 BST

The pain of childbirth is not something men get to experience, but Irish radio presenter Henry McKean decided to give it a go.

He went to a special private maternity hospital in Amsterdam to experience labour pains, thanks to a machine that used electrodes to simulate childbirth.

He lasted 2 hours and 15 minutes "in labour", and posted a video of his experience online.

He told the BBC why he did it, and what the experience was like.
