Diabetes professor: 'We're a nation of lazy porkers'

The number of people under 40 with type 2 diabetes in the UK has risen sharply in the past 20 years, research shows.

Research also shows the average age at which people get the disease is falling: the proportion of those under 40 with it has risen from 5% to 12%.

Professor Craig Currie who led the research at Cardiff University told BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast that we're "a nation of lazy porkers" and he said "it's so futile that we know about these things and don't do anything".
