NHS screening for breast cancer saves lives but "at a cost", according to a new report.

An expert panel, commissioned by the Government and Cancer Research UK, has found that while screening prevents more than 1,000 women dying from cancer each year, it also leads to three times as many women being are treated unnecessarily.

Christine Davidson found out she had cancer after having breast screening and said it was a relief to have the disease found early.
