Flu vaccines for all children annually

Help

All children aged two to 17 will be offered annual flu vaccinations, possibly within the next two years.

If 30% take up the offer, there will be 11,000 fewer hospitalisations and 2,000 fewer deaths each year, the chief medical officer for England has said.

Around nine million children will be offered the vaccine but it is such a big programme that it will not start until 2014 at the earliest, as Fergus Walsh reports.
