Appeal for blood donors to cope with London Olympics


Medical authorities are appealing for more blood donors to come forward this summer because of the extra visitors expected for the Olympics and the Diamond Jubilee.

NHS Blood and Transplant, which covers England and North Wales, says blood stocks will need to increase by nearly a third this summer to cope with demand.
