London 2012: Olympic icon Sir Steve Redgrave brings science to schools
Every school in the UK will receive a free science experiment kit under an initiative launched by Sir Steve Redgrave at St Paul's Way Trust School in Tower Hamlets.
The 'In the Zone' initiative brings hands-on science experiments into all UK schools ahead of the Olympics. The kits are funded by Wellcome Trust, and include heart rate monitors, pulse oximeters and stethoscopes.
Experiments vary by age group, and range from measuring the standing long jump to testing lung capacity and aerobic fitness.
