The hidden dangers of hospital beds

Help

The Royal College of Art and Imperial College London have designed a new hospital bedspace they hope will reduce unintended harm to patients.

Principal investigator Professor Myerson, and designer Jonathan West, explain the risks hospital beds pose to patients, and how their team went about tackling them.

The design forms part of The Designing Out Medical Error (DOME) exhibition, which runs until 4 February 2012.
