Why prescriptions for anti-depressants on the rise?
The number of prescriptions written for anti-depressants has gone up by more that 40 percent in England in the past 4 years.
Figures obtained by the BBC show that nearly 23 million were handed over last year. That's up from 16 million in 2006.
Dr Clare Gerada is the head of the Royal College of GPs and tells BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast's Nicky Campbell that alcohol is one of the causes of depression.
