NHS 'failing to provide care to elderly'
Hospitals in England have been accused by the Health Service Ombudsman of failing to provide elderly patients with basic standards of care or to treat them with compassion and dignity.
The Ombudsman's report describes ten patients who suffered unnecessary pain and distress and says more than fifteen-hundred similar complaints were made last year.
