Should the NHS incentivise patients?


Should the NHS to hand out cash or voucher incentives to people for losing weight or give up smoking?

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 live, former minister Ann Widdecombe says: "This is the nanny state gone mad."

"If the health service had spare money I wouldn't be objecting," she tells Phil Williams on 5 live Breakfast.

"It really shouldn't be shelling out money to people."
