Toronto International Film Festival starts on Thursday and with it comes the beginning of Oscar season.

The Canadian festival is seen as a staging ground for films with hopes of an Academy Award nomination.

Many of the films premiering at the festival are tipped for success, including The Judge, a courtroom drama starring Robert Downey Jr and Robert Duvall.

Tom Brooks reports from Toronto.
