11 August 2014 Last updated at 12:29 BST

Sinead O'Connor's music career has spanned 30 years, from chart-topping pop to roots, folk and reggae.

She has now turned her attention to Chicago blues with an album called I'm not bossy, I'm the boss, inspired by artists like Howlin' Wolf and Buddy Guy.

O'Connor spoke to BBC Breakfast about her new music and how she likes to play different characters.
