Nicola Benedetti: Classical music 'good for every part of your life'

8 August 2014 Last updated at 19:29 BST

Violinist Nicola Benedetti thinks it is important for children to learn more about classical music.

She works with the charity Sistema Scotland which promotes teamwork, pride and aspiration.

The organisation was inspired by a pioneering system of orchestras working in some of the most deprived areas of Venezuela.

Benedetti told BBC News that classical music teaches life skills and "is good for every part of your life".
