Danger Mouse: Scriptwriter's mixed feelings about show's return

17 June 2014 Last updated at 16:00 BST

Animated TV hero Danger Mouse is to make a comeback on CBBC next year.

The eye patch wearing rodent will be reunited with trusty sidekick, Penfold, and will use cutting-edge gadgets in the new series.

One of the original scriptwriters and voiceover artists, Jimmy Hibbert, told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast he had "mixed feelings" about the comeback, as he was "very fond" of the original.

However, CBBC controller, Cheryl Taylor, said the new series would "win over a whole new generation of fans".
