Uri Geller's 'one-of-a-kind' spoon gorilla up close

18 May 2014 Last updated at 00:01 BST

BBC News has taken a close-up look at a huge gorilla statue made entirely of spoons for entertainer Uri Geller.

The 12ft-high (3.6m) statue features about 40,000 spoons and took almost five months to build at the British Ironworks Centre in Oswestry, Shropshire.

The spoons have been donated from across the world, as well as by local schoolchildren.

Ben Godfrey looked at the statue - and heard from a delighted Uri Geller.
