23 April 2014 Last updated at 16:10 BST

The life and works of William Shakespeare are being celebrated in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the Bard was born, 450 years ago.

It comes as an international survey released to mark the anniversary found that William Shakespeare is the UK's greatest cultural icon.

Five thousand young adults in various countries were asked to name a person they associated with contemporary UK arts and culture, and Shakespeare was the most popular response.

Satnan Rana reports.
