Bruce Forsyth: Ann Widdecombe on Strictly Come Dancing host

4 April 2014 Last updated at 16:38 BST

Sir Bruce Forsysth has announced he is stepping down as presenter of Strictly Come Dancing after a decade fronting the show.

The 86-year-old said it was the "right time to step down from the rigours" of hosting the live shows but he would continue to work on pre-recorded Strictly shows for Christmas and Children In Need as well as one-off BBC specials.

Former politician Ann Widdecombe, who was a contestant on the show, said she was sad but not surprised at the news.
