Caro Emerald has announced she is postponing her UK tour next March as she is expecting her first child.

The Dutch singer revealed on her website that the rescheduled shows will now take place in October 2014.

Emerald is currently on a sold out UK tour after her second album, The Shocking Miss Emerald, entered the UK and Dutch charts at number 1 in May.

Her 2010 jazz-influenced debut, Deleted Scenes From The Cutting Room Floor, sold more than 1.3m copies in Europe.

Inspired by films and music from the 1940s and 50s, it spent 30 weeks at number 1 in Holland, where it broke a record set by Michael Jackson's Thriller.

The new tour dates will run from 9 October 2014 at the Brighton Centre until 24 October in Glasgow.

Tickets for the original dates are still valid.
