Monopoly's little known rules

Help

A blogger has revealed a number of arcane rules for the game of Monopoly.

World champion Monopoly player, Jason Bunn told the Today programme's John Humphrys that one rule, revealed by Johnny Nexus, states that if a player lands on a vacant property but does not choose to buy it "the bank auctions the property off, so the properties get put in the game straight away," essentially making games quicker.

Mr Bunn also explained that Jail is "like a safe haven" in latter stages of the game, as you are able to collect money from other contestants landing on your properties without running the risk of landing on other contestants'' properties yourself.
