Paper Dolls: Documentary to stage
A new play inspired by a documentary about Filipino drag queens caring for orthodox Israeli Jews in Tel Aviv is set to have its world premiere at The Tricycle Theatre in north London on Wednesday.
The play, written by Philip Himberg is based on a true story of a group of Filipino immigrants in Israel who formed a drag queen stage act called The Paper Dolls.
The artistic director of The Tricycle Theatre, Indhu Rubasingham, and one of the stars of the play, Francis Jue, spoke to BBC News about how they set about telling the story.
