Emeli Sande: 'I want to take my music everywhere'
Singer Emeli Sande won the night's first prize, for best British female. "This feels amazing," she said. "I'm so happy to win this award." Sande is also favourite to win best British album.
Ahead of the ceremony she told the BBC's Lizo Mzimba that recognition in the US is important.
"I want to take my music everywhere and be able to... introduce it to as many people as possible," she said.
