Ben Affleck wins Director's Guild award for Argo
Ben Affleck has won the top film honour from the Directors Guild of America for his Iran hostage drama, Argo.
The win would normally be an indicator of Oscar success, but Affleck missed out on a directing nomination.
Although he was denied a chance at Oscar glory, Affleck insisted he had nothing but respect for the Academy.
"You're not entitled to win anything. You're not entitled to anything in life," he added.
