Is Les Miserables the movie Oscar material?
Tom Hooper's film adaptation of Les Miserables has had its world premiere in London's West End.
The film is based on the long-running stage musical, which is based on Victor Hugo's epic French novel of social and political upheavals in 19th Century France.
Featuring a host of stars such as Hugh Jackman, Anne Hathaway and Russell Crowe, the early critical reaction has been positive, with talk of possible Oscar nominations.
The BBC's Arts Editor, Will Gompertz, spoke to the cast about their connections to the story.
