James Corden to star in School for Santas film
James Corden won a Tony Award for One Man, Two Guvnors on Broadway
James Corden is to reunite with the writer of the hit stage farce One Man, Two Guvnors for a new Christmas film, School For Santas.
The Gavin and Stacey star will play a down-on-his-luck dad "who needs to find his inner Father Christmas to win back his kids".
"All my life I've wanted to make a big family Christmas movie," Corden said.
The film, scripted by playwright Richard Bean, will start shooting in New York and London in 2013.
Corden won the best actor prize at the Tony Awards in New York in June for his role in Bean's One Man, Two Guvnors, which transferred from the West End to Broadway.
School for Santas, a Working Title film, is being produced by Kris Thykier, who is currently working with Corden on One Chance - about Britain's Got Talent winner Paul Potts.
"Re-teaming with Richard Bean and Kris Thykier is like all my Christmases have come at once. I can't wait to start," Corden said.
Tim Bevan, co-chairman of Working Title Films, said his company had "always loved Christmas and School For Santas feels like a gift".
