McFly reveal why they think One Direction are successful
McFly told BBC Radio 5 live's Richard Bacon why they thought One Direction had been propelled to stardom.
The band, who write songs for the X Factor stars, have had seven UK number ones of their own and have sold 10 million records around the world.
McFly's second greatest hits album, the Best of McFly is out on 26 November.
