LatAm Beats: Brazil's Criolo
In the seventh episode of a new series showcasing Latin America's musical talent, Brazil's Criolo performs his song Bogota.
Kleber Gomes, also known as Criolo, was born in the Favela das Imbuias, one of the many shanty towns that girdle Sao Paulo.
At the age of 11, rhyming rap was his first love but now, Criolo's expression has developed into a mature and nuanced instrument.
His album No na Orelha (Knot In The Ear) is one of the most successful Brazilian albums of 2011.
Video produced by Owain Rich, Peter Price, Rodrigo Pinto, Mauricio Moraes and Steve Hillman.
