LatAm Beats: Canada's Cuban-born Alex Cuba

In the final episode of a new series showcasing Latin America's musical talent, Cuban-born Alex Cuba from Canada performs his song Unanime (Unanimous) from his latest album Ruido En El Sistema (Static In The System).

Unanime was composed during the Iraq War. Alex calls his song "an emissary of peace".

After arriving in Canada in 1999 he formed a band and in 2003 The Alex Cuba Band released their first album.

In his adopted home country Canada, Alex dreamed of following the footsteps of famous Canadian pop singers such as Bryan Adams and Alanis Morissette.

Eventually as a solo artist, Alex Cuba won the Latin Grammy for the Best New Artist.

Video produced by Rosario Gabino, Peter Price, Derrick Evans, James Birtwistle and Tom Burchell.
