JK Rowling: This is what I wanted to write next

Ahead of the release of her first book aimed solely at adults, JK Rowling has spoken exclusively to the BBC's Will Gompertz about the novel and the Harry Potter series.

She said The Casual Vacancy dealt with "broad themes that have affected my life... poverty, for example."

On the subject of the Harry Potter series, she said she felt she wrote some of the books "on the run... maybe I'll go back and do a director's cut."
