Emmys 2012: Red carpet fashion

The 2012 Emmy Awards red carpet in Los Angeles was a flurry of designer gowns, towering stilettos and glittering gems.

Actress Lucy Liu shimmered in a fitted, metallic Versace strapless dress.

British-American actress Julianne Moore, who won an Emmy award for her role in Miniseries or a Movie, said she chose the canary-yellow gown from Christian Dior Haute Couture because it was "original and fresh".

Nicole Kidman, who attended the ceremony with her husband musician Keith Urban, described her aqua Antonio Berardi gown as "comfortable" adding that she "loves a bit of blue".
