Sir John Major: Prince William 'right' to pursue action

16 September 2012 Last updated at 11:13 BST

Former prime minister Sir John Major, once guardian to Princes William and Harry following the death of their mother, has said the Duke of Cambridge is "right" to pursue legal action against those who photographed and published photos of the Duchess of Cambridge topless.

Sir John told Andrew Marr the photographs amounted to the actions of a "peeping tom" and their publication was "distasteful". He added he was "delighted" the British press had seen fit not to publish the images.
