Mumford & Sons influenced by Hilary Mantel
Mumford & Sons frontman, Marcus Mumford, has revealed that he "lifted" a line from Hilary Mantel's Wolf Hall for lyrics included in the band's new album, Babel.
The musician, who also runs an online book club, told John Wilson on Radio 4's Front Row that the band has countless literary influences.
But he said: "We don't consider ourselves more of a literary band than any other band."
Front Row is on weekdays on Radio 4 at 19:15.
