Fewer stars to attend 69th Venice Film Festival

The 69th Venice Film Festival opens on Wednesday with fewer films and fewer stars expected to attend.

Only 60 films are scheduled to be shown with just 18 in competition for the prestigious Golden Lion prize.

Artistic Director Alberto Barbera says he is focussing on "quality not quantity", but critics warn that the lack of stars could have a financial impact.

Wendy Urquhart reports.
