Homeland creator on researching prisoners of war

The creator of the Israeli drama series Prisoners of War and its American adaptation, Homeland, has spoken about his inspiration for the two programmes.

Gideon Raff told BBC Breakfast that he researched the differences between the two cultures in approaching their own prisoners of war.

He explained that while psychologists and interrogators in both societies focussed on the period of captivity, "nobody talked about what happens the day prisoners return".
